 Introduction :  uniform civil code denote to equality law for  all in  the country . its mentioned in article 44 of part IV in  DPSP(Directive  Principles of States policy )of constitution . it denote to quality in religious  like - marriage , inheritance ,family and land etc . it should be equal for all Indian. in India, current personal law are different in different communities  but the purpose of UCC is to set common law for all communities .

Why so important UCC   its  so important because of India is secular country and many community live in the country . the rules is different for all so the some states of the country want to take its law  . So important to common  law for all .

When was enforced in india . Utterakhand is going to become first state that will be enforced UCC law .if I talk that before it in British colonial then Goa was first state to enforced this law ,known as Goa civil code what act upon till date . Mainly for Hindu and Muslim citizen .Indian state of Goa was separated from India due to colonial rule in erstwhile portugues and goa and Daman .

In the first ,UCC was emerged ras crucial topic of interest of politics following the Shah Bano case in 1985 .when question of  e making certain law applicable to all citizen .

UCC was proposed twice in November 2019 and March 2020 but was withdrawn in soon.

Note  UCU will not permitted multiple spouses ,outlaws some divorce practices .

In recently  , Utterakhand government announced that UCC will be enforced in the state . UCC  (Uniform Civil Code ) bill ,  which government introduce in  the  house on 06 Feb 2024 , will be first kind to be implemented in a state  following  independence if it is passed . The Chief Minister Puskar Singh Dhami's government resolve to put in place overarching legal regime for governing personel matter , including marriage ,divorce ,live in relationship and succession.  

Will  be implement after proposed the law 

Bill contemplates  an official mechanism  under the state government for compulsory registration of marriages , besides provide for first  time  to  recognition live - in - relationship that can be registered as well as dissolved under the proposed legislation.offence can lead to  jail for  up to  three months .  

UCC draft encompasses various facets of civil life ,with recommendation extending to in inheritance rights ,mandatory marriage registration . proposed UCC for Uttarakhand goes beyond  religious boundaries , granting adoption rights to everyone including Muslim women . It's seeks to ban practices such as halala and iddat ( islamic practice a women must go through after divorce or death of husband .False case will be registered by women would also come down . Note  Draft excludes population control measure and scheduled tribes .
