Union Public Service Commission of india
Introduction : Union Public Service Commission is central recruiting agency in India .it is independent constitutional body .it has directly created by constitution .Articles 315to 323 in part _XIV of constitution .
Composition : upsc consists of a chairman and other member appointed by the president of india .usually ,the commision consist to nine to eleven member including the chairman .Further no qualification are prescribed for commission member of the commission should be such person who have held office for at least ten years under the government of india or under the government of the state .
The constitution also authorises the President to determine the condition of service of chairman and other member of commission .
The tenure of chairman and his member of commission
The chairman and member of commision hold office for term of six years or until they attain the age of 65 years ,whichever is earlier
However ,they can relinquish their office at any time by addressing their resignation to the president .They can also removed before expiry date of their term by the President in the manner as provide in the constitution .
The President can appoint one of the member of upsc as an acting chairman in the following two two circumstance
1. When office the chairman falls vacant
2. When the chairman is unable to perform his function due to absence of some other reason.
Function of union public service commission
A. Upsc perform the following function
It conduct examination for appoint ment to all india service ,central service .
B. It assists the state in the framing and operating scheme of joint recruitment for any service
C. All matter relating to method of recruitment to civil service and for civil post .
