CAA (citizenship Amendment Act) will implement before coming poll LS
Citizenship is defined who migrants (refugees)came to India without any authority proof and they settled in our country for livelihood . The bill amend the citizenship Act 1955 and at the first time on basis will be grant citizenship on basis of religion to non Muslim communities from Afganistan ,Bangladesh ,and Pakistan who entered in India on or before December 31, 2014 . It was passed by Lok Sabha on December 9, 2019.
The Rajya Sabha on 11Dec 2019 passed contentious citizenship (amendment)bill ,2019 with 125 votes in favour and against 99 .The Bill was for first time allows citizenship on the basis of religion to six communities . These communities are Sikhs ,Jainism , Buddhaism ,persis ,christens and Hindu .
Government want to grant Indian Nationality Non-muslim migrants who arrived in India till December 31,2014.
the rules for implementing the CAA will be issued before upcoming Lok Sabha and process to grant Indian Nationality to beneficiaries will start soon .Union Home Minister said here on 10 Feb 2024 under the CAA ,Modi government want to grant Indian Nationality to persecuted Non- Muslim migrates .
He said granting Indian Citizenship to persecuted minorities of the neighbouring countries was a promise of the Congress leadership to but Congress want back on their words .
Home Minister said he wanted to make it clear the CAA is not law to snatch anyone citizenship .
There are massive protest in some parts of the country after the CAA was passed by parliament in Dec 2019 and got the President assents

According to the mannual on parliament work the rules for any legislation should have been framed within six months of presidential assent or on extension should be sought from the committees on subordinate legislation in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha ,since 2020 Home Ministry has been extension at regular intervals .
Nine states can grant citizenship in last two years ,over District magistrate and home secretaries of nine states have been given power to grant grant Indian citizenship to Hindus , Sikhs ,Buddhists , jains , parsis and Christen coming from Afganistan ,Pakistan ,and Bangladesh under the this Act 1955.
Gujrat ,Rajasthan , chhatisgarh ,haryana, Punjab Madhya Pradesh ,Uttar Pradesh ,Delhi ,Maharastra are nine states .
The constitutions deals with citizenship from Article 5 to 11 under part II .
